CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 19-year-old Buffalo Grove man was arrested for allegedly having sex with a 12-year-old girl he met online last February, the Sun-Times is reporting.

Tal Vardy, of the 700 block of Thompson Boulevard, has been charged with predatory sexual assault and appeared Sunday in Cook County bond court.

Assistant State's Attorney Anthony Gattuso said Vardy met his alleged victim on a dating website, picked her up Feb. 19 and took her to a parking lot that court records show was found in the 15500 block of South Cicero in Oak Forest.

Gattuso said Vardy had sex with the girl twice but first told her to turn off her cell phone so her mother wouldn't bother them. Vardy then allegedly dropped the girl off near her home, where witnesses reported seeing the girl on the street.

Police waited to arrest Vardy until they could analyze DNA samples left on the alleged victim, Gattuso said. Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois Jr. ordered Vardy held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

He says the baby slipped through his hands during the delivery, but luckily went into the water. He says she began crying and it was the best sound he'd ever heard.
