No Twerking Allowed At This High School Dance

Posted: Updated:

It seems twerking is everywhere since Miley Cyrus' infamous performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

But this dance craze will not be allowed at one Maryland high school's homecoming dance!

Students at Annapolis High School have to sign a contract promising not to twerk, grind or dance provocatively at the school's homecoming dance. And their parents have to sign off, as well.

Anyone who doesn't bring back the signed form won't be allowed to go to the dance.

Parents are split on whether the new rule will work, and students think the contract is out of touch.

Anyone caught twerking at the dance will be escorted off the floor and kicked out. They could also possibly be banned from future dances, including prom.

This is not the first time Annapolis High School made students sign a dance contract, but students say this year's contract is more specific than usual. And the parent signature requirement is also new.
