President Takes Heat From Own Party Over Obamacare Website Woes

Posted: Updated:

Issues with the Affordable Care Act's website may force President Barack Obama to push back the deadline for signing up for Obamacare.

And now the president is starting to feel the heat from members of his own party.

Congress begins the first of no doubt many investigations into this website Thursday, with one of the key contractors blaming the administration.

Congress will be asking some tough questions, and some of the answers may be troubling.

One of the lead contractors behind the failed Obamacare website says in prepared testimony that the department of health and human services is largely to blame, saying the government was "...'quarterback' on this project and is the ultimate responsible party for the end-to-end performance."

And while secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius remains on the job, some Democrats are now calling on Obama to hold someone to account.

The White House may consider moving an enrollment deadline be a few weeks, more and more Democrats are calling for a one-year delay.

Republicans, meantime, point to recent notices from insurance companies that hundreds of thousands of consumers are being kicked off of their current insurance policies because of the law, despite repeated assurances otherwise from the president.

FOX's Doug Luzader has more details in this video report.
