Detroit Public Schools public safety unit is looking for a man suspected of stealing several bags and purses from DPS buildings.

They say the man wanders throughout the building and makes his way into classrooms. In one case he entered the school after asking to use the restroom and saying he was there for a student who was a relative.

DPS says bags and purses have been reported stolen from Noble Elementary-Middle School; Coleman A Young Elementary School; Bates Academy; Priest Elementary-Middle School; and Glazer Elementary School. The reported incidents occurred between October 4th - 18th.

Unauthorized purchases have been made by credit cards that were reported stolen.

The suspect is described as a black male possibly in his 30s, approximately five feet eleven inches tall and weighing between 180 - 220 pounds. He also has a full beard and mustache and usually wears dark clothes, a dark baseball hat and a dark backpack. It's believed he puts the stolen goods inside the backpack.
