Dr. Mike Talks About ADHD And Sunlight

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

There's some interesting health news making headlines this morning for parents of children with ADHD.

Dr. Mike was in the Good Day studio to talk about the finding that links ADHD with how much time children spend in the sun.

According to Dr. Mike, there is a definite correlation between the intensity of sunlight that kids are exposed to and the lower incident of ADHD. Does this mean that there is some direct effect of Sunlight in the brain? Maybe it's the increased exposure to Vitamin D. This could also potentially encourage schools to build some sun roofs, according to Dr. Mike. Or could this just be proof of an adage that's been the case for 80 years: playing outside is healthier for the kid. After all, more intense sunlight probably means that the kid is out playing.

Dr. Mike also talked about Dick Cheney's recent revelations about his pacemaker. Watch the full segment above to hear Dr. Mike's analysis of what Cheney said in his memoir.

    NICE EASTER WEEKEND

The first half of the holiday weekend has been great and Easter Sunday looks just as nice. Clouds thin out late tonight with temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Initially it'll be jacket weather early Sunday morning but plenty of sunshine will warm us into the 60s by afternoon.  High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday.

It will be noticeably cooler and breezy at the shore with highs in the low 50s.  Quiet conditions continue into Monday.
