An Ferndale police officer was driving westbound on Eight Mile Road at Gardendale Street when a light-colored Buick Rendezvous runs a red light and slams into the police cruiser.

"She said she was picking up her son from work at a local restaurant," Lt. William Wilson tells Fox 2's Maurielle Lue. He continues: "She ran the red light against his green light and crashed right into the police car." Police also say 41-year-old Andreana Seay did not stop after the collision and drove away from the scene.

The officer in the cruiser was not injured but his vehicle was too badly damaged to drive and track down the Buick.

"He got hit in the left-front portion of his vehicle; [it] completely disabled the police car. He wasn't able to pursue her himself," Wilson says.

The officer radioed for backup, though, and soon after another officer spotted the Buick on Allen Road. Police say Seay was driving with her lights off and her damaged vehicle was leaking a trail of fluid.

"She did pull over right away but did not comply with the orders to get out of the vehicle right away, so officers approached her with their weapons out. We were able to see that she was unarmed, by the time she was caught she was just dejected and giving up," Wilson says.

Seay refused to take a breathalyzer test so police got a warrant to test her blood. That blood sample is being analyzed right now. Seay has also been in trouble with the law before. Officers discovered she has 12 current suspensions on her drivers license and several traffic warrants out for her arrest.

Seay was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident; driving on a suspended license; operating under the influence of liquor; and for several outstanding traffic warrants. She will be arraigned later this week.

When you hear about a place that still sells records, located in a hip neighborhood in the borough of Brooklyn, you enter that store with certain expectations. One of them being: you hope the guy behind the counter talks about music the way Cory Fierman does."I think it's just like the most important thing to you," he says. "I don't know how to describe it. It's the most important thing to me. It's like another language."Cory manages Greenpoint's Academy Records Annex, where they want you ...
