Driver arrested for running over man several times

ATLANTA -

A man is in extreme critical condition after police say he was intentionally run over several times in a southwest Atlanta neighborhood on Sunday.

A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department tells FOX 5 News that they responded to the 600 block of Clover Street around 11:40 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. The found a man trapped under a vehicle.

Family members identified the victim as 30-year-old Braydon Green.

Police said that Bryan Bush and Green had been drinking at a gathering when there was a disagreement and Bush used his vehicle as a weapon.

Witnesses told police that Bush ran over Green, put the car in reverse and then ran over him a second time. Bush then allegedly ran over Green a third time before a bystander intervened.

A witness told FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor that he jumped behind the wheel to stop Bush from running over Green a fourth time. That witness said that the attack was unprovoked.

Firefighters extricated Green from under the car and transported him to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is in an intensive care unit with a lacerated liver, a collapsed lung, two broken collar bones, a broken leg and fractured ribs. His aunt, Casey Heath, said that he is miraculously improving.

"They took him off the ventilator yesterday and the first thing he did was to grab my hand and say, ‘Auntie pray,'" Heath said.  "And when I got there today he said, ‘Pray for me.'"

Bush was also transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, but was later taken to the Fulton County Jail. He waived his first court appearance on Monday. He is charged with aggravated battery.
