The 55th annual Grosse Pointe Holiday Mart, featuring distinctive gifts from exclusive vendors, will be held Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial.

Proceeds from this 55th annual event will benefit the pre-natal care and the cancer prevention programs of Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan.

    Israeli police said Tuesday they are searching for a young New Jersey religious student who disappeared during a hike in a forest outside Jerusalem last week. Aaron Sofer, 23, of Lakewood, N.J., has been missing since Friday, when he went on a hike with a friend in the Jerusalem Forest, said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.
