SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police release surveillance pictures of a suspect they believe may have been involved in an attempted robbery and shooting at a Southfield Dollar Tree earlier this week. The surveillance pictures are not from Monday night's incident at the Dollar Tree because, at that time, the suspect wore a mask. These pictures are from a separate incident of armed robbery in Detroit, but investigators believe the two crimes could be connected.

The Dollar Tree on Eight Mile Road has added a security guard at the front door and cut its hours temporarily. Nearby business are also following the store's lead and taking extra precautions as well.

Meanwhile, employees at the store are planning a fundraiser for their coworker who was shot in the hip during the attempted robbery. That 51 year old is still recovering in the hospital.

If you recognize the suspect in the surveillance pictures contact Southfield or Detroit police.

While a thousand people streamed into a courtyard at St. Lucy Parish in the Bronx to watch a reenactment of the crucifixion of Christ, next door a steady trickle of believers quietly collected water from that church's grotto, taking the liquid home to heal, cure, and bless.
