A teenager in Florida is desperate for a home to call his own. The 15-year-old orphan stood in front of his church, begging for someone to adopt him. However, this story may soon have a happy ending.
Two weeks ago, Davion Only stood in front of the congregation at a Florida Baptist Church dressed in a dark suit, and tie that he borrowed.
He told the packed church that his requirements for a family were simple.
He said, "I'll take anyone, old or young, dad or mom, black, white, purple, I don't care. And I would be really appreciative. The best I could be."
Since then, the church has been flooded with phone calls, from families looking to adopt Davion.
"It has been just an awesome outpour," Cynthia Coney, a secretary at the Church, said. "We've been getting calls from as far as Utah and forwarding them to his adoption agency."
Davion had previously tried finding his birth mother, who had him while she was in prison. Unfortunately, she died just weeks before he found out her identity.
Since then, Davion's been putting himself out there, trying to find a home. And hopefully, his search will end soon. Only currently lives in a group home with a dozen teenage boys. His activities are monitored, and he even has to get someone to unlock the bathroom.
