APD searches for clues in deadly overnight shooting

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Atlanta police are investigating a deadly shooting that sent homicide detectives all over the city looking for clues.

It started around 9 p.m. when police got a call reporting a man had been shot at the Oxford Village Townhomes on Jonesboro Road.  Emergency crews got there, but didn't find a victim.

Soon after that, another call came in about a person being shot on Springside Drive.  When police got there, they found a man who had been shot several times.  He didn't survive his injuries.

Police believe the man was actually shot at the location on Jonesboro Road, but he was dumped on Springside Drive.

About 10 miles away on Westview Drive, detectives are investigating a possible kidnapping to see if there's any connection to the shooting.  So far, investigators aren't commenting on what they've found.
