Elderly Robbery Victim's Family, Tenants Want Answers

Posted: Updated:
PLYMOUTH TWP., Pa. -

An 84-year-old man robbed at gunpoint is rattled but okay, says his family. Now Plymouth Township Police are searching for the duo responsible for the crime at his real estate rental company on the 1300 block of East Ridge Pike.

Surveillance video shows the 84-year-old owner sitting at his desk, hard at work on Thursday morning. That's when police say two crooks, looking for easy money robbed him at gunpoint.

The victim's tenants stunned at the news.

"Wow! I'm just in shock, said Genyia Tryce. "I can't believe someone would do that."

But Plymouth Township police say two cold hearted crooks did. Pretending they wanted to rent a property. Investigators say the unknowing victim buzzed the thieves past security cameras and into his office on the 1300 block of East Ridge Pike. Seconds later you can see one suspect who wasn't afraid to show his face holding a gun on the man. Meanwhile his partner in crime concealed their face while tying the 84-year-old victim to his chair--then ripping him off.

Family members tell us the crooks knew exactly which pocket to pick to get the cash. But police aren't saying whether they believe the crime is linked to a current or former tenant or one of the many properties the victim rents out.

Call Plymouth Township Police if you have any information about the suspects at 610-279-1901.
