Bus driver pleads not guilty to reckless driving

Posted: Updated:

KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - A man whose tour bus was swept down a northwestern Arizona wash has pleaded not guilty to a reckless driving charge.

Joseph Razon entered the plea earlier this month in Kingman Justice Court.

If he's convicted of the criminal traffic violation, officials can seek reimbursement for emergency response under Arizona's "Stupid Motorist Law."

Razon had taken a group to the Grand Canyon Skywalk in late July. He was headed back to Las Vegas when he drove into a flooded wash. The vehicle flipped on its side into an embankment, and all 33 passengers escaped on their own uninjured.

He's scheduled to appear in court again on Oct. 29 for a pretrial conference.

Court documents do not list an attorney for Razon.
