More problems for Prescott: Cuts on the way?

Posted: Updated:
PRESCOTT, Ariz. -

This has been a long year for people living in Prescott. In June, the community was devastated after the Yarnell Wildfire claimed the lives of 19 hotshot firefighters.

Then, a few days ago, we learned that Prescott Fire Chief Dan Fraijo would be leaving his job suddenly. And now there's the possibility of more cuts to the department.

Today the city council was discussing the feasibility of paying $90,000 to an outside company to come in and examine how they operate public safety-wise -- whether they need to make cuts or spend more money.

Firefighters we spoke to are afraid this could lead to more cuts. So while the city is debating this issue, the community is grappling with the fact the chief is leaving his job. The audience at the council meeting actually gave Fraijo a standing ovation.

FOX 10's Andrew Hasbun talked to residents and got their take on all this.

Step through the doors of Hope's Land of Candy in Island Park, Long Island and you''ll be taking a trip back in time. There's no WIFI but they do have a Victrola piano. And then there's the candy.. lots and lots of it.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
