Are you a social media over-sharer?

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

You know the type: that person always updating social media like Facebook, constantly checking in everywhere they go. They belong to a special category of Internet user known as the over-sharer.

Gabriel Velez and Oben Eugene both agree that too much sharing isn't just an annoyance. So the Yonkers and Queens residents, who met at a hackers convention, created an app called Voutche. It's like a social media credit score, from 0 to 100. It gave me a 71. Apparently I've left too much personal info public.

The software has already won these two designers a $5,000 prize for innovation from Visa security. And it has me rethinking my settings.

People can start using the Voutche app soon. It should be available for Android devices early next year and iPhones after that.
