Police have arrested two of the bikers involved in the initial incident that lead to the vicious attack of a man driving his family in Manhattan, the NYPD said.

It was a violent case of road rage that shocked the nation and now police have arrested another man in connection with the assault.

35 year old Robert Sims was arrested on Saturday and charged with gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Outside Manhattan criminal court where Sims was arraigned Saturday, his lawyer denied all of the charges and said Sims, a 35 year old electrician, was one of the bikers who merely witnessed the incident.

The attorney for Sims, Luther Williams says he doesn’t believe there's any indication of he was involved in the attack.

“I watched it with him, a few times, I don't see it, I don't see it anywhere” Luther said. “I don't believe he did anything illegal especially since we know there were two off duty officers also riding”.

But according to the criminal complaint against him, Sims is seen on video as part of a group that actually beat up the Alexian Lien, the driver of the SUV.

Police have yet to confirm reports that off-duty officers were among the witnesses to the attack.

They released photos of two additional suspects they are seeking.

Meanwhile the biker run over by the SUV on the West Side Highway remains hospitalized and possibly paralyzed.

His family has hired high profile attorney Gloria Allred.
