Students Launch Political Movement During Government Shutdown

Posted: Updated:

Chris Biehn, 17, of Medford, N.J., is hoping a four-minute YouTube video can inspire our nation's young people to stand up to Washington.

"We want common-sense solutions to help us with college, get a job, live the American dream and prevent political partisanship," explains Biehn.

Ironically, on Oct. 1, the same day that the federal government shut down, Biehn and his fellow classmates from Shawnee High School transformed a popular after-school club into a bi-partisan political movement called "Youth 4 Truth."

The group also announced plans to hold a national rally on Capitol Hill next spring and invited people from all over the country to fight for the issues that matter to a younger generation, like, college tuition costs, student loans, jobs and service to our country.

Youth 4 Truth member Natalie Chiappetta told FOX 29 News, "I want to know that when I've worked in school, and worked my hardest, I want to have a job and make money for myself."

Biehn added, "We aren't satisfied with what's happening and we need a call to action.  We need people to get together and ask for change."

The call for action rally will take place in Washington, D.C., on April 12, 2014.  The group hopes to catch the attention of Congress and gain even greater momentum to make a difference.

The saying art is autobiographical takes on a whole new meaning when your canvas is a fully nude human body, as it is for artist Andy Golub. Andy along with 30 other artists and 45 Technicolor models paraded around several Manhattan hotspots over the weekend for NYC Body Painting day. Believe or not, this is completely legal in New York City.
