New Hawks coach steers away from DUI questions

ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer wants to focus on basketball rather than a DUI arrest as his new team prepares to open training camp.

Budenholzer was arrested last month and the case has yet to be settled. The rookie coach said Monday he "never wants to bring any negative attention to our organization." But he wouldn't discuss the case further, saying "it's important for me to respect" the legal process.

When asked if the arrest was a setback in his effort to win over the players, Budenholzer would not give a direct answer. He would only say he believes "it's important for me to move the focus to our team."

The Hawks open camp on Tuesday at the University of Georgia, where they will spend the next three days.
