Herald: Bulger complains he’s ‘demonized’ in latest jailhouse letter

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – He's angry at what he claims injustice and wants friends to know it.

The Boston Herald reports that, in a recent letter to a pen pal, James "Whitey" Bulger says he's been demonized, among other things.

In the letter, up for sale at Sports World in Saugus, the convicted gangster complains about short sentences for accomplices Kevin Weeks and John Martorano.

He also says he's angry Catherine Greig was denied bail, was given an eight-year sentence and had to sell her house. Bulger describes her as "a woman I was intensely in love with" and says she should have qualified for the same protections as a common law marriage in an era of same-sex marriage.

The complaints are so extensive that they spill into the page's margins.

Bulger was convicted in August in 11 of 19 murders in a racketeering indictment.
