Police investigate 2 shooting deaths in Wixom

WIXOM, Mich. (WJBK) -

A man and a woman were found dead Thursday at the Stone Ridge Apartment Complex in Wixom near Pontiac Trail and Beck Road.

Investigators say a 40-year-old male and 25-year-old female died from gun shot wounds. Police know a married couple of the same ages lives at the apartment but a positive identification has not been made.

"Some of the wounds that the people at the apartment received as a result of those gunshot were of the type that will make it difficult to identify them," said Wixom Director of Public Safety Clarence Goodlein.

Police on Friday are working to identify the bodies and determine whether the deaths were a murder-suicide or a double homicide.

A 12-guage shotgun found at the apartment will also be examined for fingerprints. If the gun does not reveal a third party's fingerprints, police could rule murder-suicide.

Neighbors tell Savage they heard two loud bangs around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, but did not call 911 because they did not think it was the sound of gunshots.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
