New brewing facility helps Four Peaks produce fall fave Pumpkin Porter

Posted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. -

As we get closer to Halloween, you're seeing more things with pumpkin flavoring. Pumpkin-spiced coffee. Pumpkin cream cheese. And yes, pumpkin-flavored beer.

Now, the valley's best known brewery, Four Peaks, is out with its pumpkin beer, and thanks to its new brewing facility, it's now available in cans too.

Inside these 8 huge tanks is something pretty special to beer drinkers in Arizona. Something you usually can only get in a pub.

Now, Four Peaks' Pumpkin Porter will be canned too.

"It is our number one seasonal, has a good following, we never seem to have enough, so with the addition of our new canning line it made sense for us to go ahead and can it," said Andrew Harden of Four Peaks.

The Pumpkin Porter is one of four beers Four Peaks brews in their brewing factory. Take a look at the machinery -- it's a pretty intricate process. A lot of beer goes through at one time.

The eight tanks make 240 barrels of four kinds of beer, which is equivalent to about 480 kegs. An incredible amount of Four Peaks craft beer, made in Arizona and only sold in our home state.

"It's great to be local. We still have not distributed out of state. We take pride in that, we haven't gone out of state yet so it's nice to keep it all local."

A six pack of Pumpkin Porter sells for about $15.
