Family Donates Wedding Reception To 200 Homeless

Posted: Updated:

A wedding reception gets canceled, but the food and fun doesn't go to waste.

An Atlanta couple, Carol and Willie Fowler, say that they were surprised when the lavish wedding that they paid for was called off a little more than a month before the event.

After planning so hard and paying so much money, they couldn't let it go to waste. Therefore, they donated the ceremony to the homeless. Mrs. Fowler contacted an Atlanta-based homeless charity. At first, the charity thought she was joking. But Mrs. Fowler reiterated their situation, and soon the event was rolling.

About 200 homeless people and their families turned-out.

It's still unclear who canceled the wedding, but daughter Tamara attended the impressive event with absolute high spirits.

After seeing the smiles on everyone's faces, the Fowler family says that they will host another event like this next year.
