Rare Expensive Scotch Sold At Costco

Posted: Updated:

Costco is known for its bargains and people buying in bulk, but a new item at an Arizona store has people putting away their wallets.

It's a rare bottle of 60-year-old single Malt Macallan Scotch. It's the only bottle for sale in the area, and its one of 72 for sale in the entire United States. Only 1 in 400 were ever made.

The cost: 17,000 DOLLARS.

While $17,000 might sound like a lot, the price at this Costco is apparently a steal. Bottles typically sell for about $20,000. That breaks down to about $1000 a shot, if you're counting.

The Macallan distillery has been making world class Scotch whisky since 1824.

    Zoo feeds roadkill to animals

Roadkill is part of the menu when it's feeding time at a zoo in western New York. The Seneca Park Zoo has been feeding deer carcasses to its carnivores for years. The practice began after a zoo employee hit a deer on the way to work. The zoo gets the deer after they've been hit by vehicles on Rochester-area roadways. But it won't accept deer that have been dead for more than 10 hours. The zoo also accepts deer killed by bow hunters.
