MESA, Ariz. -

A man is accused of shooting a gun into the air after two women began fighting on Wednesday night.

Police say two women were fighting in a parking lot near Rio Salado Parkway and Dobson Road.

Witnesses told police that one of the women began losing the fight and they were separated.

According to police, Bryan Goodlow, who arrived with the woman who was losing, pulled out a gun and shot into the air twice. He then left in a black Chevy Impala.

Officers were given a description of Goodlow and the license plate of the Impala.

A car with a matching license plate was found near a few miles away.

Police say they waited there and eventually saw someone that matched the Goodlow's description.

Goodlow allegedly admitted to officers that he shot the gun.

He was booked and faces a charge of discharging a firearm in city limits.

Heavy thunderstorms swept through the tri-state on Sunday causing flash floods and lightning strikes that injured 3 people. The three men were struck at Orchard Beach in the Bronx Sunday afternoon and were being treated at a local hospital. Meanwhile, various Labor Day weekend celebrations were interrupted, delayed and even canceled as the U.S. Open tennis tournament had to be postponed and the Electric Zoo musical festival on Randall's Island had to be prematurely shut down.
