Suspected Arsonist Arrested In Delaware

CLAYMONT, Del. -

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office has arrested a 43-year-old male and charged him with attempted murder, arson and burglary for an August 12 fire.

According to authorities, Shawn L. Gibson, 43, is the one responsible for the two alarm fire that occurred at the Bourbon Street Grille restaurant on the 2600 block of Philadelphia Pike at around 5:00 a.m. on August 12. No one was injured, but damage to the building was extensive, according to fire officials.

Gibson is currently held on bail. Anyone with information on the incident or the suspected is encouraged to contact The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office New Castle Division at 302-323-5375.
