Body found off Cedar Lake Road in St. Louis Park

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (KMSP) -

A body wrapped in a white sheet was found between a building and the railroad tracks off Cedar Lake Road in St. Louis Park on Tuesday afternoon, but police are being tight-lipped about the grisly find.

"Scary business. The world's crazy, that's for sure," Larry Larson said.

A police department spokesperson said an employee at the building, located at 5001 Cedar Lake Road, called police after looking out the window and seeing the body just before noon.

The address is just south of the Interstate 394 and Highway 100 junction.

The body was found in a grassy area between the parking lot and the railroad tracks to the south. The Cedar Lake Bike Trail is just on the other side of those tracks, and a well-traveled shortcut to the trail is near where the body was found.

It's a highly-traveled area, which begs the question how and when the body got there without witnesses.

"There's always people here whenever I'm out and around here," Nora Kaffine told FOX 9 News.

The Hennepin County medical examiner removed the body and is now working to confirm the identity and cause of death. Officials have not yet stated whether the body belonged to a man or woman, but the size did suggest it was an adult.

St. Louis Park police and county crime scene investigators spent more than three hours collecting several bags of evidence; however, they only would refer to the area as a crime scene and stopped short of using the word homicide.

Even so, residents who live nearby were very disturbed by the discovery.

"This is a great neighborhood," Tom Palm said. "So it's, when was it dropped?"

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, St. Louis Park police and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension crime lab are investigating.

Adorable Bronx native Arielle was turned away last year but this time around she's made it through to the final round of the auditions. But even those who were on the team last year still have to try out.
