Fire damages Scottsdale home, family of 3 safe

Updated:
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Three people are  out of a home Tuesday morning after a fire broke out at a home near Thomas Road and Loop 101.

Fire crews from three cities responded to the Scottsdale home after flames began just before 1 a.m.

Three people were in the home and were reportedly awake when it caught fire.

Firefighters say the inside of the home and the attic is badly damaged so the residents will likely have to find somewhere else to live.

According to fire officials, they believe debris in the backyard caught on fire, eventually moving to the home.
