LAKE MARY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -

Shellie Zimmerman and attorney Kelly Sims held a news conference two days after she was involved in a domestic dispute with her estranged husband George.  She did not answer questions and asked her attorney to speak for her.

"Shellie Zimmerman wants to end this relationship with a whimper and not a bang," said Sims.

Nevertheless, it all turned ugly on Monday after police said the couple exchanged a series of text messages trying to arrange a time to pick up belongings at the home of Shellie's father, where the couple once lived together.

According to her attorney, Shellie texted George that she was going to get her items and George replied, "Ok, please let me know when you're done."

Kelly said that, instead of staying away, George arrived at the Lake Mary home and confronted Shellie.

"I get a call from Shellie. 'Oh my God! Oh my God! He's here! He's taking pictures.  He won't say anything.'"

Kelly said he told Shellie to start recording George with her iPad.  He said George started fighting with Shellie's father, David Dean, and broke her iPad.

But according to a police report, George accuses his father-in-law of charging after him and says Shellie also attacked.

"Mr. Zimmerman was saying that he was struck in the back by the iPad," said Lake Mary police spokesman Officer Zach Hudson.

Kelly said his client never hit George.  He released a photo of a scratch on Dean's nose, the broken iPad, and packaging from a new holster to carry a gun.

"Shellie had every reason to believe there was a gun," he said.

Police said they never found a gun at the home or on George.
