Severe storm damage in Northville, car crushed by fallen tree

NORTHVILLE, Mich. (WJBK) -

September 11 brought a nasty thunderstorm across southeast Michigan, with Northville getting hit the hardest. Fire authorities urge neighbors to stay inside clean-up continues and downed power lines are fixed.

In the meantime, most of Northville is without electricity tonight, as are other scattered areas across metro-Detroit.

The storm's rough winds knocked down several trees, including one that took out Northville resident Chris Konieczny's car.

    One of the tubes of the Lincoln Tunnel was closed for nearly four hours after a chain-reaction accident involving a New York-bound jitney bus and two other vehicles. Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Steve Coleman says three people were reported injured in the accident in the center tube at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
