Tractor-trailers catch fire at East Point warehouse

EAST POINT, Ga. -

A row of trailers carrying mattresses and other bedding caught fire Wednesday afternoon.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the Classic Mattress Company warehouse located on Oakleigh Drive in East Point around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters arrived shortly after, but not before the fire ripped through numerous trailers.

Fire crews used their used their high-powered cannons to try to contain the fire to just the trailers, but a portion of the building also caught fire.

About 60 people worked at the factory. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters said the blaze began outside of the building, which is located in an industrial park.

Crews were expected to remain at the site into Wednesday evening to continue to put out hot spots.

According to East Point fire officials, five trailers, two dumpsters and about 15 to 20 percent of the structure sustained fire and water damage.
