HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -

Greenwich businessman Tom Foley, the 2010 Republican candidate for governor, is planning to announce his intentions for 2014 on Tuesday.

Foley narrowly lost the 2010 race to Democrat Dannel P. Malloy. The former U.S. ambassador to Ireland said previously he had not decided whether to run again.

Foley's former running mate, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, announced last month he was exploring a possible gubernatorial campaign.

Malloy has not yet said whether he intends to seek a second term.

Foley plans to make his announcement at a community center in Bridgeport on Tuesday morning.
