ASBURY PARK, N.J. -

The surveillance videos show it from two different angles: two young women come into Tracy Bean's yard and take the red wagon that she uses to transport her handicapped son. This happened early Tuesday morning, 9/3/13.

Tracy's son, Alex, has cerebellar hypoplasia, which is a neurological disorder that makes him unable to walk or talk. He has a wheelchair, but it is hard to maneuver with, which makes him anxious. The wagon that was stolen has a bucket seat and enough room for Alex and his toys. It gives him the comfort needed when they go outside; Alex gets to be in his own bubble, while Tracy or husband Jim takes him around.

"My kid's heart is broken, and I know that was not [the thieves] intention," Tracy told the Asbury Park Press, "but sometimes you have no idea how it can affect other people."

Ever since Tracy put her two surveillance videos on YouTube, they've gotten more than 10,000 views each, and many people have reached out to her. Some people have offered to buy her a new wagon for her son, and one person even brought his own child's wagon for Alex.

Tracy has been really touched by the support from the community, but she really just wanted the two thieves to give her back her son's wagon.

"If they were to come back and give it back, fine. I won't even ask a question. If it shows up, I'll drop the [police] report," Tracy told the Asbury Park Press.

On Friday, one of the women (the blond one) came to Tracy's door and apologized. She saw the media coverage and wanted to correct a wrong. She bought Alex a new wagon because the one they took was lost in their night of recklessness. The lady also wrote an old-fashioned apology letter to go with the new wagon. Recognizing the remorse in the woman's words, Tracy dropped the police report.

"We should always be considerate because you never know what we are all going through inside the walls of a home," Tracy tells FOX 29. "They honestly had no idea about my son, but I think they learned a valuable lesson!"
