1 dead, 1 wounded in Bronx double shooting

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police are looking for the suspect(s) who shot two men, one fatally, in the Bronx early Saturday morning.

Police say they arrived to 158th Street and Park Avenue in the Melrose section around 3:00 a.m. and found 26-year-old Karshon Brooks with gunshot wounds to his chest, shoulder and torso.

A short distance from the first shooting, police found a 21-year-old man by 3073 Park Avenue with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Both victims were taken by EMS to Lincoln Hospital where Brooks was pronounced dead and the other unidentified man is listed in stable condition.

Police have made no arrests and their investigation is ongoing.

    The New York City Department of Health has issued an alert after two babies were diagnosed with neonatal herpes this month after undergoing a ritual Jewish circumcision called metzitzah b'peh.  In this type of circumcision the mohel sucks blood directly from the infant's cut penis.  The infants need to be hospitalized and treated with intravenous acyclovir.

    A two-alarm fire broke out in a commercial building in New Jersey on Tuesday. The fire erupted on Bergen Boulevard and 12th Street in Palisades Park. SkyFoxHD was over the scene as heavy smoke poured out from the building. It is not clear what sparked the fire. No injuries were reported.
