Alleged Arms Smuggling Ring Busted By Feds In Philly

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Feds in Philadelphia accuse a Belarus man of shipping hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of high tech military gear overseas, putting U.S. troops and citizens at risk.

Investigators say Siarhei Bultutski, 40, worked with a team of arms smugglers based here in Philly, authorities allege.

They're accused of shipping scopes for assault rifles, night vision devices, thermal imaging systems and more to Belarus, and likely beyond.

No one knows where the gear ended up. But investigators say insurgents battling U.S. troops overseas have been caught with similar models.
