Woman held captive nearly two hours, raped and robbed of $15

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

Police are looking for a man believed to have held a 27-year-old captive for nearly two hours. During that time he's believed to have sexually assaulted her twice. Police also believe he took her to five ATMs, hoping to get cash.

The whole ordeal finally ended when the suspect took her to Marcus Market on Prentiss Street. Police believe his intention was for her to buy something and get some cash back for him, but the suspect took off and the victim got help.

In the end, the suspect made off with only $15.

But this promising neighborhood of Midtown feels they were robbed of a whole lot more.

Police say the victim is not associated with Wayne State, and no similar attacks have been reported.

Marcus Market's surveillance system did get a clear picture of the suspect, which police are using the further their investigation. (See right.)

If you recognize this man call Detroit Police.
