DETROIT (AP) -

A man has been charged in a weekend drive-by shooting in Detroit that killed a 12-year-old boy and wounded another man.

The Wayne County prosecutor's office says 33-year-old Alvin D. Conwell of Detroit is charged with first-degree murder and, two counts of assault with intent to murder and using a firearm during a felony. He's due in court Friday afternoon for arraignment.

A message seeking information on whether Conwell has a lawyer was sent to the prosecutor's office.

The mother of Kenis Green Jr. has said that he was sitting outside a house early Saturday with other family members while celebrating a relative's birthday when the shooting happened. The prosecutor's office says 25-year-old Greg Owens was wounded.

The prosecutor's office says the shooting followed a dispute between Conwell and Owens.
