Road Rage May Have Led To Shooting, Police Say

PHILADELPHIA -

One man is under arrest after a shooting in Elmwood that may have resulted from a road-rage incident, police say.

The shooting happened along the 6400 block of Grays Avenue late Wednesday night.

Officers say the 37-year-old victim had bruises on his face and a gunshot wound to his wrist.

Police believe it may have started during a road-rage incident.

A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene after someone flagged down police.

"The first responding officer, who was flagged down, probably seconds after the shooting took place, was able to not only make the arrest, confiscate the weapon, and notify paramedics and backup officers to come to the scene in order to get the victim to the hospital," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

That victim is in stable condition this morning.
