Pro-Marijuana Billboard Pops Up Right Before 2013 NFL Opener

DENVER, CO -

One Colorado billboard has the NFL on high alert.

A forty-eight foot wide ad, in Denver Broncos colors, hangs outside Sports Authority Field at Mile High stadium.

The sign calls on the league to "stop driving players to drink," and recognizes the legalization of marijuana in Colorado as a "safer choice" over alcohol.

The sign was put up by the marijuana policy reform group, the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP).

MPP has also launched a petition on change-dot-org calling on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to change its marijuana policy.

The billboard pops up just in time for fans going to the Broncos-Ravens NFL 2013 season opener on Thursday.

The Marijuana Policy Project is the largest organization devoted solely to Marijuana policy reform. They were founded in 1995.
