Eve: The Challenge Makes Me Work Harder

Posted: Updated:

You all know all about Eve, don't you?  Maybe not.

The rapper-slash-actress says she still gets "super nervous" when beginning a new acting role, even though she's had her own TV show, co-starred on "Glee" and in feature films including "Barbershop" and "Whip It."

"It's still really new to me.  When I get on set, I worry 'Do I know my lines?  Let me get myself together."

But, she adds, "Music is easy."

Whether it's Eve's movies or music you prefer, both are on display this week.  She will perform live at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip Thursday, September 4; her newest movie, "Bounty Killer" opens the following day.  And her first studio album in 11 years, "Lip Lock" has only been out a few months.

Watch Eve talk about all of the above with Steve Edwards and Maria Sansone on Good Day L.A.

Fun Facts About Eve:

  • She is an American Grammy Award winning rapper-songwriter, record producer and actress. Her first three albums have sold over 8 million copies worldwide.
  • As an actress, Eve is best known for her roles as Terri Jones in the films Barbershop and Barbershop 2: Back in Business, and as Shelley Williams on the UPN television sitcom Eve.
  • In 2003, Eve starred in the UPN television sitcom, Eve, as a fashion designer named Shelly. The show lasted three seasons until it was canceled in May 2006. Eve guest starred as Yvette Powell on an episode of Third Watch. She also was a guest star on an episode of Numb3rs in 2009.

Born and raised in Liverpool, signed by an inexperienced agent named Brian Epstein, hustled into the studio with a genius producer named George Martin...and out of that session came a hit song called "Do You Want To Know A Secret." Now here's the twist…we're not talking about The Beatles.
