The National Weather Service posted one Flash Flood Warning this morning for parts of Burlington, Camden County, Gloucester and Philadelphia counties until 1:45 p.m.

But now Flash Flood Warnings have been added for Delaware, Gloucester and Salem counties until 3:30 p.m., and still more are up for Hunterdon, Mercer and Bucks counties until 5 p.m.

Some of the storms were severe when they crossed Philly and its north and west suburbs, but Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were canceled by late morning, before they expired.

By noon, there were some reports of roadway flooding near Camden and Philadelphia. The weather service said additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches could come in a short amount of time, with showers and thunderstorms redeveloping over much of the area.

"A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring," the NWS says. "If you are in the warning area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Never attempt to cross swiftly flowing waters or waters of unknown depth by foot or in an automobile. Turn around don't drown!"

The rain came right as Philadelphia's Labor Day Parade was stepping off.

FOX 29's Kelly Hessedal reported that umbrellas and rain ponchos were everywhere at the steel workers' union hall, and she tweeted photos when the skies opened up shortly before 10 a.m. She said it's "Pouring... But it appears the parade is going on anyway!"
