Education Achievement Authority hosts open enrollment cookout

The start of the new school year is just around the corner. Parents and students are invited to attend the Education Achievement Authority's open enrollment cookout. It's set for Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Belle Isle Casino. It will run from 10am to 3pm. It's a chance for parents to enroll their kids in an EAA school and enjoy some fun activities with the family.

The 12 Education Achievement Authority schools participating in the open enrollment cookout are Bethune Elementary/Middle School, Brenda Scott Elementary/Middle School, Burns Elementary/Middle School, Central Collegiate Academy, Denby High School, Henry Ford High School, Law Academy, Mumford High School, Nolan Elementary/Middle School, Pershing High School, Phoenix Multicultural Academy and Southeastern High School of Technology.

Parents are asked to bring important original documents to complete enrollment during Saturday's event including:  

·    Immunization records
·    Parents and guardians need valid identification
·    Birth certificates for students
·    Proof of income (for Pre-Kindergarten program)
·    Incoming Freshmen or transferring students need their last report card
·    IEPs if applicable
