Family, grandmother attacked by known eastside gang

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

A mother was selling Detroit Titans football shirts at her sons' practice when she got the call that her other son was being jumped by a number of other guys.

The mother went to help her son, along with a grandmother, and other parents from the football team. When they got to Eastburn St. near Crusade, the scene had broken up already. But when they were helping the son into the car, the group of guys came back, and started the assault all over again.

Several neighbors witnessed both fights. They say this group of guys is well-known, known as "The Eastburn Headbangers." And they've done damage in this neighborhood before.

Witnesses say during this particular incident, the suspects were throwing punches, smashing bottles, and breaking car windows.
