Residents cleaning up after strong storms hit Brighton

BRIGHTON, Mich. (WJBK) -

Residents are cleaning up after a round of heavy storms caused damage to homes and vehicles in Livingston County.

The National Weather Service plans to send crews Wednesday to assess storm damage in Brighton, about 45 miles northwest of Detroit, FOX 2's Roop Raj reports.

Raj says at least eight homes and five vehicles sustained major damage in the area of Washakie and Brighton Roads.

Raj says the storm passed through just after midnight.

DTE Energy says no significant power outages were reported in the area, although a look a the DTE Energy Outage Map did show over 200 homes without power in the area as of Wednesday morning.
