Tom Barrow claims major election fraud going on

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

A state Board of Canvassers has voted 4-0 for Michigan elections officials to begin tabulating about 18,000 write-in ballots from Detroit's mayoral primary.

But defeated mayoral candidate Tom Barrow says thousands of those write-in ballots are all in the same handwriting. He says volunteers from his campaign saw the signatures, and noticed the similarities.

"Right now we're being subjected to massive voter fraud, and the public doesn't know they're walking around like everything is fine - and folks it is not," Barrow tells Fox 2's Randy Wimbley.

Even setting the signatures aside, Barrow has more beef to pick with the Duggan campaign.

"Hundreds and hundreds of challengers in the precinct from the Duggan campaign were there, under the credentials of Citizens for a Fair Election. Citizens for Fair Elections is controlled by me, my brother. We never issued them a single credential," says Barrow.

Melvin Butch Hollowell, lawyer for Mike Duggan's campaign, flatly denies the allegations. He says Duggan got  his 44,000 votes fair and square.

Barrow is calling on the Wayne County Prosecutor and the Attorney General to investigate.

Going off to college is an exciting time for the entire family, especially for the upcoming freshman. But with technology, parents can be in touch all the time. What's too much and what's just enough? Freshman move-in day seems to be harder on the parents than the students at Stony Brook University.

Nearly all 1,100 facilities providing services in the city's new universal pre-kindergarten program are ready to open on time after passing health and safety inspections. City officials said Friday they expect the eight remaining pre-K schools to remedy violations by Sept. 4's opening day. If they don't, affected children will be temporarily enrolled in other facilities.
