Matt Damon on Snowden: `It`s a great thing he did`

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Actor Matt Damon is adding himself to the list of celebrities that are coming to Edward Snowden's defense.

In an interview with the BBC show "Alternative Cinema," Damon was asked what he thought of the national security agency leaker, and he didn't hold back.

"I haven't read everything that he leaked, but he certainly seemed like a very conscientious guy," Damon said. "And these revelations are pretty incredible and shocking and kinda fly in the face of public statements that all these officials have made. So, on balance, I think it's a great thing that he did."

Damon played a CIA agent in both the "The Good Shepherd" and the "Bourne" movie series.
