Class aims to help educators spot troubled teens

More teachers are focusing on mental illness to prevent violence in classrooms.

Experts say mental illness has played a role in many school shooting around the country. Some school staff members are attending a class created by the American Psychiatric Foundation called Typical or Troubled.

Everyone from custodians to counselors are being taught how to spot behaviors that may appear to be typical of teenagers, but could in fact be signals of troubling thought patterns.
