UNION CITY, Ga. -

Police are releasing new details on the people found shot in a wooded around off Georgia Highway 92 in Union City on Friday.

Union City Police tell FOX 5 News that they know the identities of both the woman who was shot and killed as well as the man who was serious wounded. They say they are still trying to piece together how 30-year-old Christina Wellington and 54-year-old Marshall Wellington ended up on that wooded road.

A Fulton County maintenance worker discovered the pair along McClure Road near Georgia Highway 92 on Friday morning. Both appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds; Christina dead as a result of those gunshot wounds while Marshall was in critical condition.

Authorities say both victims lived nearly 20 miles away from the crime scene in a motel in south DeKalb County. Investigators are trying to piece together how the victims ended up so far away.

Neighbors say the pair was new to the area, but Christina Wellington was very friendly and generous. They say she seemed to be someone without enemies. Several were shocked to hear the news.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
