405 North Ramp Jam Closure In West LA

Posted: Updated:

Call it Carmageddon, 405-enstein, Bridge Bash, Grid-lock-apalooza – call it what you want, there is nothing cute about LA traffic but at least something is being done to try and fix it.

I think.

"Ramp Jam" is the latest installment in the $1.1. billion dollar project to try and improve traffic flow on the seemingly-never-flowing-always-gridlocked 405 freeway.

Yeah, yeah we know- it's one of the busiest freeways in the nation with 3 gazillion one-occupant only cars on it every day at every hour. I exaggerate. Slightly.

So, heads-up if your commute takes you from the Westside, as in Wilshire and Sepulveda, to anywhere north, the eastbound onramp to the 405-North on Wilshire is now closed for – cue the menacing Jaws theme here – three months.

The onramp on the west side of Wilshire is still open.

Best advice?

Move to Pahrump.

Why Pahrump? I just like saying it. Plus, I don't think they have traffic jams.

If that's not an option, catch the 405-N on Santa Monica Boulevard. Better yet, try the onramp on Cotner Avenue, off Pico.

Happy Trails!

Some might call Jenn Wehrung a performance artist. Others, more simply, a masochist. This Brooklynite shares her deepest innermost thoughts from 6th grade in a show perhaps best summed up by its name: "Mortified."Wehrung is 37, single, and claims to have $37 in her bank account.Financially poor maybe, the ensemble real-life characters of "Mortified" are all filthy rich in memories.
