CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -

Several crashes involving tractor-trailers created traffic nightmares for drivers in DeKalb and Clayton counties overnight into Friday morning. Two people were hurt in one crash, with lanes closed for hours.

Traffic problems plagued I-20, right around Panola Road. All lanes were blocked by an overturned tractor-trailer in DeKalb County.  Emergency workers were able to re-open the highway just before 4:30 a.m.

Crews also had their hands full after another tractor-trailer crashed and overturned at Spaghetti Junction. The rig was going from the I-285 westbound ramp to I-85 northbound, according to SKYFOX Traffic's Katie Beasley.

That lane was closed while crews worked to get the semi unloaded and upright in order to clear the scene. This ramp was also re-opened by 6 a.m.

Thursday night, a scary crash in Clayton County shut down all lanes of I-75 north- and southbound at Mt. Zion Boulevard. Two people were hurt when another semi, a motorcycle and a vehicle crashed. The rig's trailer was sent hurtling over the median wall.

The two injured people were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries and identities were not made public.

North- and southbound lanes were shut down for some time. They were finally all opened about 3 a.m. Friday.

Astorino blasts Cuomo over Moreland Commission

    Wednesday, July 30 2014 6:54 PM EDT2014-07-30 22:54:36 GMT
In 2013, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo created a state panel to investigate public corruption, called the Moreland Commission. But the governor is accused of interfering with investigations and compromising the commission's work. Republican Astorino, who is running against Cuomo, claimed Cuomo didn't hand over evidence to State Police. Astorino wants a special prosecutor to find out if any state and federal laws were broken.

Archeologists say they've solved a mystery that started with the rebuilding at ground zero. During the excavation at the World Trade Center Site, workers uncovered part of an old ship. No one knew where it came from. Now after years of study, researchers believe the sloop dates back to 1773, built from wood harvested from Pennsylvania, the same kind used to build Independence Hall.

"A mixed bag": That's how the Straphangers Campaign characterizes New York City subways; some good parts and some bad.
