A 52-year-old convicted crack cocaine distribution ring leader was sentenced to 14.75 years in prison on August 16, Attorney General Tom Horne announced Thursday.

David Mosley will serve an aggravated term of 14.75 years in a correctional facility and will pay a fine of $10,000 for leading a crack cocaine ring that distributed to the Phoenix area.

Phoenix Police and special agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration started their eight-month investigation after an undercover narcotics detective became curious about a car with custom plates.

Mosley was responsible for making and distributing large amounts of crack cocaine every week to dozens of people, including gang members who operate Phoenix crack houses that authorities refer to as the "Rock Block."

Search warrants at Mosley's two houses revealed large amounts of crack and power cocaine, about $80,000 in cash and cars and a massive shoe collection purchased with his drug trafficking money.

Authorities say Mosley's investigation allowed them to arrest and prosecute 56 other people who are involved in the distribution of illegal drugs. Many of those involved are serving terms in the Arizona Department of Corrections.

The Boys and Girls Club of Newark seems like the last place you'd expect to find the daughter of hip hop royalty. But when it comes to inspiring young girls, Angela Simmons, daughter of Rev. Run of Run DMC, believes in the old adage "each one, teach one." While it may seem like she had a silver spoon in her mouth, she knows the importance of giving back.
